In a overnight operation in southern Gaza the bodies of hostages were retrieved. It was said that five (5) were found dead, the Israeli militant on Tuesday highlighted the plight of the remaining captives in the Palestine enclave.
According to the Israel military the names of the hostages whose bodies were returned are; Yagev Bunchshtab, Alexander Dancumyg, Avraham Munder, Yoram Metzger Nadav Popplewell, and Haim Pen. They were all know to have died in captivity. Except from Mr Avraham.
Last October 7, when the hamas- led militant into Israel from Gaza and made attacks, they took 250 people hostage and killed about 1,200 people according to Israeli Authority.
However, Israel force had rescued only seven (7) hostages so far. According to the metrics mostly women and children were rescued. During a cease- fire in November, more than a Hundred (100) captives remain in Gaza and thirty (30) were believed to be dead.
Yoav Gallant, Israel Defense minister made mention that six (6) bodies have been recovered from Hamas- tunnel in Khan Youni city in a"complex operation".
What led to the death of six (6) hostages is not clear. A spokesman for hamas military wing, Abuubaida said in March that Mr Metzger and Mr Pen were among the seven (7) hostages who were killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.
The recoveries of bodies came as the secretary of states, Anthony J. Blinker continued the diplomatic push in the region that would sees hostages released in exchange for the prisoners of Palestine held captive in Israel. Much more frustrations has grown Especially in Israel over the month of pausing negotiations and family members of hostages still in Gaza have led regular protests demanding a deal to secure thier freedom.
The prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has also blamed the obstructing deal on Hamas. The prime Minister's critics in Israel as well as Hamas officials, says that Mr Netanyahu recently added new conditions to a proposal outlined by President Biden in late may, adding to the difficulty of finalizing the deal.
Mr Netanyahu made a statement on Tuesday "Our hearts are grieved over the terrible loss" following the military's announcement about the bodies that were retrieved. "The state will continue to make every effort to return all our hostages- The living and the deceased"
Over 600 Palestines that occupied west Bank have been killed by Israeli since October 7, and a further 5,400 have been injured, according to the Palestine Health Ministry.
The death toll of Israel's war on Palestine- Gaza has exceeded 40,000, not counting the thousands still trapped under the rubbles. The figures are still staggering.
